The Rosetta: the Prologue to Chapter 12
The Prologue carries sign 00 and each chapter carries its own sign, 01 to 24. Each sign is also a word, and the chapter's title tells you what it means.
Look at the Contents page. Beside each title is a sign. Read the sign as a sound and you have a word of Somka; read the title and you have its meaning, or something close to it. A title glosses its sign the way the English under a Latin phrase glosses it in a contract.

Some glosses are direct (ki, eye: Under the Director's Eye). Some come at their word sideways (a, ash: City of Ashes, where a ruin is a question). Each word on this page is also a root that builds others.
