Membership terms
Last updated
These are the terms for Night Shift, Dispatch and Backdoor Key memberships and for gift memberships, in plain English. Nothing written inside the story changes them.
Who you are buying from
Memberships are sold by Tingle Press Ltd (company number 16075152, registered in England and Wales; registered office: 66 Moyser Road, London SW16 6SQ, England), the company that runs the Dreamscape Code site. Payments are taken by Stripe; we never see your card number. Questions about a membership: hello@dreamscapecode.com.
What a membership is, and what it is not
A membership unlocks objects, stories and craft: early audio, printable papers, font licences, posted Case Files, signed printings. Each tier's page lists exactly what it includes before you pay.
A membership never buys rank, votes, hints, a say in the story, a place in any draw, or anything in the free course. Not being a member changes nothing about what you can read, solve or make here.
Backdoor Key has a stated capacity (shown before you pay). It is a true limit for the year, not a countdown, and we never raise it to make a sale.
Price, renewal and reminders
The total Stripe shows you before you pay is what you are charged: there are no fees added at the end. Tingle Press Ltd is not registered for VAT in the UK, so UK buyers pay no VAT.
Monthly memberships renew every month and annual memberships every year, on the date you joined, until you cancel. Night Shift lets you choose what you pay each month, from £1.
We email you a reminder before every annual renewal, every six months on a monthly plan, and before any cooling-off period ends. Reminders are never sent between 22:00 and 07:00 where you are.
If we ever change a price, we tell you at least 30 days before it applies, and you can cancel before it does.
Joining before memberships start
Until memberships start (the date is on the memberships page), joining saves your card and charges nothing. Your membership and its first payment start on that date, and we email you a week before.
If what a membership includes is not all ready by then, it starts later: we email you the new date, and still nothing is charged before it. Until it starts you can cancel for nothing on your membership page.
A gift membership bought before memberships start is a pre-order: your card is saved, and it is charged, and the gift code sent, when they start. You can cancel it for nothing before then from your order page.
Cooling-off: 14 days, with a full refund
You can cancel within 14 days of joining and we refund everything you paid; if you joined before memberships started, the 14 days run from your first payment. The same applies for 14 days after each annual renewal.
Cancelling inside the cooling-off period ends the membership straight away and the refund goes back to the card or account you paid with, normally within 5 working days and always within 14 days.
Cancelling, in one step
Cancel at any time on your membership page with one button, or in Stripe's customer portal linked from that page. There is no survey, no offer and no second screen.
Outside the cooling-off period, cancelling stops the next renewal: you keep what you paid for until the end of the current month or year, then the membership ends. Nothing you made or earned on the site is affected.
If you live in the EU, you can also withdraw from the contract with the withdrawal button on your order page for the whole 14-day withdrawal period.
Pausing
You can pause a membership for one, two or three months from your membership page. Nothing is charged while it is paused and nothing you have is taken away. It restarts by itself at the end of the pause, or earlier if you resume it.
Gift memberships
A gift membership is one payment for twelve months and does not renew. The gift code never expires; the twelve months start when the person you give it to redeems it.
A gift cannot be redeemed by the account that bought it. If the code has not been redeemed, the buyer can have a full refund at any time.
Things we post to you
Dispatch and Backdoor Key include posted items. We post to the address you give at checkout, which you can change from Stripe's customer portal. Delivery is included in the price. Outside the UK, your country may charge import duties or taxes on delivery, which the carrier collects from you; they are not part of our price.
Your rights
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer. If something we post arrives damaged or is not as described, tell us and we will replace it or refund you.
