Seller terms

Last updated

You make the work; we sell it on your behalf and pay you. These terms say how, in plain English.

Who can sell

Sellers must be 18 or over and must pass Stripe's identity checks when setting up payouts. Stripe collects the information the law requires platforms to report to tax authorities (the UK Platform Operators Regulations 2023 and the EU's DAC7). We keep only what we need to pay you.

Where Stripe cannot pay people in your country, we pay you through Wise instead.

Who sells to the buyer

Tingle Press Ltd is the seller to the buyer for everything in the marketplace. That means we take the payment and handle refunds, any tax due on the sale and the buyer's consumer rights; the buyer never has to chase you. Each listing says it is your work, sold by us on your behalf.

Your price is the price before any VAT. Tingle Press Ltd is not registered for VAT in the UK, so UK buyers pay no VAT. VAT we charge on a sale is ours to pay over and is never part of your share.

What you are paid

You keep 85% of the price. For Scribe commissions you keep 80%, because the Ledger Desk reviews each one.

Our share pays for card fees, the reporting the law asks of platforms, and moderation. There are no listing fees and no other deductions.

We pay you 7 days after the buyer pays, through Stripe, and Stripe pays out to your bank weekly. If the buyer is refunded, your share for that sale is reversed.

What can be sold

Digital work (zines, printable maps, tabletop modules, music, fonts), prints, and Scribe commissions by certified scribes first. Physical goods follow, one category at a time, after a product-safety check.

  • Never: toys, plush, cosmetics, candles or food.
  • Never: anything that sells rank, votes, hints, canon, a place in a draw, or chance of any kind.
  • Never: Sotak on floors, doormats, footwear, socks, underwear, bathroom goods, alcohol or pet products.
  • Never: anything that looks official, implies the author's endorsement, uses a real person's likeness without permission, or was made with generative AI without saying so.
  • Never: anything that breaks the values or the Red Splat Rule (the splat only with the Eye or the wordmark, never with action verbs).

Every listing is checked by a person

Listings appear only after a person has read them. Physical goods also need the product-safety information the law asks for: who made it, what it is made of, and any warnings.

We may decline or remove a listing and will always say why. You can ask for a second look through the appeal form.

Your work stays yours

You keep the copyright in your work. You give us permission to show it, sell it and deliver it for as long as it is listed, and you confirm it is yours to sell under the Open Door Policy.
