You are following the Slow Read, which begins with the Prologue on Saturday 10 October and reads a chapter a week. Read ahead? Choose the last chapter you have finished. The site hides anything from a chapter you have not reached; this is proof of reading, never of buying, and a library copy counts.

A relay for the whole Hotel. Each night of the week, seven calls go out, one held by each Door's office. The relay is done when every call has been said back.

If a call has waited two days, anyone may say it back on that office's behalf. Nobody is left holding a call, and nobody is blamed for one.

A game from Dreamscape Code, a novel by Nima Golsharifi. About this fiction · Need help now?

To say a call back you need to be signed in. Saying back your own office's call, or one on another's behalf, adds to your rank once. Nothing about who said what back is shown to anyone.
